A Weekend in Montreal

Hi guys,

Last week we decided to take a little girls trip to Montreal. Our main goal was, yes to have fun, but also to discover some new cute and trendy places, which is something we think we totally achieved! We discovered some restaurants that just recently opened and they happen to be perfect for you trendy girls.

If you know any other cute shops or restaurants you want to share with us, please do so in the comment section! Now, let’s get into our little travel diary!

Hope you enjoy!

Firstly, we thought what better way to start our trip than with a brunch at a small café. After a lot of research, we finally decided on a cute restaurant/ice cream shop/boutique situated on the Plateau Mont-Royal called Au Festin de Babette. We both took a different brunch plate and enjoyed it so much! Totally recommend if you want to start the day right.

After our very filling and tasty meal it was time for a little bit of shopping (obviously). Before that, we discovered that there was a Barbie Expo near st-Catherine so we needed to go check it out! We thought it was so fun and totally recommend you check it out if you need some activity ideas on a rainy day in Montreal.

When our shopping on St-Catherine was over, it was time for a dinner break. We think a lot of you guys will agree on that but what better way to finish the day than a sushi place. We went to a restaurant that just opened it’s doors recently and we fell in love with the food, the ambiance and the owners of this place. We can easily say that the sushis at Le NINJA sushi & bar are the best we tasted so far, and this is a lot to say for two sushis lovers.

Aka les meilleures sushis 🍣

The next day we decided to treat ourselves and stop at a smoothie and poke bowl place. This is also a very recent addition to the Saint-Catherine street in the Gay district. With it’s Hawaiian vibe and very cute decor, we are now obsessed with Kamehameha Snack-Bar. Our smoothie bowls were on point but what really made this place special was their watermelon and black sesame ice cream in a fish shaped cone. It can sound weird just saying it but wait till you see some pictures. They change the flavours every week and they seem to be getting better and better each time!

Here are some pictures of our favorite outfits of the weekend!

Tommy Hilfiger look-a-like

When we went shopping the day before, we both found cute crewnecks at Brandy Melville that look a lot like a vintage Tommy shirt, but for a fraction of the price.

A Weekend in NYC

Hi guys !

A couple weeks ago I went to New York City for a few days and I thought it would be fun to share some of my favorites places with you. I mainly visited the parts of the city I had never really been before, which were DUMBO, Soho and Greenwich Village.

I hope you enjoy this little travel diary filled with a bunch of really amazing spots that you might want to check out next time you are in the city !

The High Line

IMG_4988

IMG_4994

The High Line is definitely one of my favorite spots in the city since it allows you to walk through the Lower East Side and Chelsea really easily. You get amazing sights, both of New Jersey and the city,  from this old train rail converted in an elevated green path walk.

IMG_4995

IMG_5017

There is also a lot of art and little details all the way along the High Line, like this giant mural. You could walk through the path a thousand times and still find a little something new every time because of the many sculptures and figurines all along the way.

IMG_5022

IMG_5025

There are a lot of green spaced all along the High Line, which I really loved. It has a really different vibe from the city below. It is really calm, there are a lot of beautiful plants, resting areas and sunbathers in the summer which makes it really entertaining.

IMG_5029

As I said, up on the High Line you get some of the most beautiful views of the heart of the city.

Soho & Greenwich Village

IMG_5038

I loved walking through Soho for its typical New York architecture. Mercer and Bleecker Street were fun to walk along. We stopped in a bunch of art galleries and little shops, as well as more famous ones. We also found the best food in those neighbourhoods ! There is so much choice and everything is very trendy. It is the perfect place to spend your night since there is a lot of little music venues and places to go get a drink.

IMG_5041

IMG_5047

My two favorite places were Oatmeal, where you can get any kind you want, for breakfast or lunch. They even make some with cheese and tomatoes ! The other restaurant I absolutely loved was by Chloe., a vegan restaurant where you can get the best fries and burgers. Don’t forget to also make a stop at the famous Magnolia Bakery and La Durée for a dessert to die for !

DUMBO & Brooklyn

IMG_5093

We decided to rent a bike in the Financial District and rode it on the Brooklyn Bridge to DUMBO and Brooklyn, where we strolled for a while. It was a really fun activity and we got to see pretty sights, like this spot you might recognize if you’re a Gossip Girl fan !

IMG_5100

IMG_5105

IMG_5123

I really like strolling through the Brooklyn Bridge park because of the breathtaking view you had of the city but also because of the vibe of the park. Families were hanging out, preparing barbecues in communal spaces, there was a very big outdoor space to go practice almost any kind of sport and a lot of people were walking along the river.

IMG_5125

IMG_5143

Central Park and the Upper East Side

IMG_5146

IMG_5170

IMG_5200

We ended our little trip with a stroll around Central Park and Fifth Avenue, which is always very fun and a must see.

I hope you guys enjoyed and that it gave you some ideas for the next time you’re in New York City !

See you next time,

Travel with us: Florida

Happy 2017 guys!

We hope you all had an amazing beginning of 2017 and that you are ready for the new year to come.

What better way to begin the new year on a fresh start than by warming ourselves up a bit. As you know, winter in Quebec city can be quite cold so we decided to take a two-week vacation in the sun, in Florida. We thought you guys would enjoy a bit of warmth and sun too, so we decided to bring a little bit of our trip to you in this blog post.

Hope you enjoy!

The resort

We stayed at the Orange Lake Resort in Kissimmee, Orlando. We had a lot to do there which was very fun. There was a lot of pools and a beach we could go to, two mini-golfs, a lazy river and waterslides.

Also, the sunsets there were just unbelievable !

Travel with us: Ontario Roadtrip

Happy Monday everyone !

We hope you had a great week and are as excited for the weekend as we are. Summer is going by so fast, how is it already august?! I think it is really important to make the most of what is left of the pretty weather and enjoy the freedom before school starts! On that note, I thought it would be interesting to create a blog post for you guys showing you a couple of great activities you can do, places to eat and also pretty cities to visit if you are ever in the Toronto area. I hope you enjoy!

The first stop on our roadtrip was Brockville, where we walked around and enjoyed the pretty waterfront view.

IMG_0307

Later on in the day, we moved on to Gananoque, which was the first destination we had on our list. It is a really tiny town where we walked around before we started looking around for some place to have dinner. Since it is a really small community, there is not a lot of choice but we found a really pretty, newly renovated, italian restaurant named Riva. I truly recommend it to you guys if you are ever in the area! The patio and the tiramisu are to die for.

IMG_0333

IMG_0340

We then made our way to Kingston, where we spent the next three nights. It is a really cute city mainly inhabited by military officers and university students. The architecture is pretty and there are a lot of parks you can explore as well as the public market at Springer Market Square which is really fun to discover.

IMG_0349
In the heart of the city, a lot of the buildings are made of red brick, which I think is so beautiful !

IMG_0358

IMG_0361
While in Kingston, I really liked walking around and checking out the different houses in the neighbourhoods around the City Park as well as King and Wellington Streets. There is a great mixture of styles in the area and some were lived in by important characters in the city’s history, which is interesting to learn about.
IMG_0378
This is a really fun bakery situated on Princess St in Kingston. You can have brunch, lunch, coffee or a little treat to go !

IMG_0386

We also returned to Gananoque for a day to take a boat that would show us around the 1000 Islands and that would also transport us to the Boldt Castle.

IMG_0408

IMG_0416

IMG_0422

IMG_0444

IMG_0469
The architecture of the castle was very unique and it was really fun to walk around the property!

IMG_0476

IMG_0479

IMG_0496
My favorite outfit for a day out walking around ! I got my off-the-shoulder top from Brandy Melville and my shorts from Zara. I also had on a double buckle belt (my favorite trend of this summer!) from Bestseller.

After spending a couple of days in this quite small and relaxing town, we got on the road towards the big city : Toronto.

IMG_0536

We started our day by walking to the Kensington Market, one of the oldest neighbourhood of the city. It is situated in Downtown Toronto, a close walk from Chinatown, and is a really interesting area to explore. It is very eclectic and multicultural, which is what makes it so unique. Most cafes and shops take stand on Augusta Av and Kensington Av.

IMG_0539

IMG_0540

IMG_0542

After a while, we decided to walk to the CN tower, the emblematic building of the city.

IMG_0558

IMG_0568

IMG_0589

IMG_0591

After walking around the Financial district we headed to the Eaton Center. On our way we found this really amazing café named Mövenpick. It is located on Yonge Street and they serve really good coffee, an amazing cranberry flavoured iced tea as well as sandwiches and treats.

IMG_0601

After a little bit of shopping, we decided to end the day by discovering the Distillery District, which is a pedestrians only area full of little shops and restaurants.

IMG_0608

IMG_0619

IMG_0631
A really comfy outfit for a day of exploring ! I love the pattern on the shorts (that I bought at Forever 21) for the summer, it is really fun and it reminds me of Greece because of the colours! I love to pair them with a simple white top and this one is from Dynamite. My sandals from Aldo are my favourite to walk in since they are so comfy!

IMG_0640

IMG_0651
You can buy little love locks to put on the wall like in Paris, which is cute!
IMG_0663
This is the restaurant we chose for diner. It is called El Catrin Destileria and is a mexican tapas style. I recommend you try their guacamole and their tacos if you are ever in the area! Make sure to reserve in advance or to come in early since it is really popular.

The next day, we made our way to Niagara-on-the-lake, the most beautiful town on the shores of Lake Ontario.

IMG_0677

IMG_0667

IMG_0665
There are so much flowers on the main street, it is insane but soooo pretty !

IMG_0680

IMG_0691

We spent our last three days in that area, walking around the little town and checking out the breathtaking sunsets and beautiful houses.

On one of the days, we rented bikes and explored the wine routes around the town. There is a vast choice of wineries to choose from and decided on some we wanted to visit. We biked around for the day and it was actually really fun so I definitely recommend it to you guys!

IMG_0699
The Inniskillin winery was one of our stops

IMG_0704

IMG_0711
We also went to Caroline Cellars where we had dinner one night and it was really good ! The restaurant is only open on thursdays and fridays though.

IMG_0733
My sporty look for the day we went on a bike ride. It was so hot on this day but the wine tasting made it all better !

IMG_0736

IMG_0750

IMG_0798

We also went to Niagara Falls where we walked around and had dinner in a really good Indian restaurant named Shere Punjab on Victoria Ave.

My go-to outfit on a hot summer night! My cropped tank is from American Eagle and my skirt from Urban Outfitters.

Travel with us: Montreal

Hey guys!

A couple of weeks ago we decided to go on a weekend trip to Montreal. We visited a lot of cute and trendy places that we would like to share with you in case you are in need of a girls only weekend !

Day 1 – Shopping Day

7 A.M : We took the bus to go to Montreal because it is an easy and affordable option (also a good alternative if you want to sleep on your way there 😉 ).

10 A.M: We arrived in Montreal, checked into our hotel and decided to go explore a little bit. We rapidly found a really cute park named Jardin Gamelin where we decided to have a little impromptu pic-nic. After eating, we started walking in the park and found cute spaces with communal gardens.

11 A.M : We started our shopping day on Sainte-Catherine street. If you want a great spot to shop in Montreal this street is for you ! There is a great variety of shops, some internationally recognized brands and also some local stores.

8 P.M : It was dinner time and we decided to try a place near our hotel named Cinko. It is a really cool restaurant with a nice ambiance. Also, what makes this place different is that all the dishes are 5$. The perfect place if you are on a budget !

We started out the day by having breakfast at the hotel. We stayed at L’Auberge d’Antoine. It is a really simple and cute hotel located in the heart of Downtown Montreal.

After breakfast, direction the Vieux-Port! We took our time to visit different places that looked cute and took some pictures.

For lunch, we chose a coffee shop named Tommy’s . This place is so gorgeous! We couldn’t stop staring at all the little details everywhere. The food and the coffee were really good and their homemade dessert looked really yummy.

IMG_3558[1]

We discovered a lot of cool things like this wall, a Caribbean food festival with a Henna stand and a lot of cute food trucks (CHURROS!!!) in the Vieux-Port.

After the churros break, it was time to go explore outside the Vieux-Port, further towards the old Montreal. We passed by the Cathedrale Notre-Dame-de-Foy and a lot of other beautiful buildings.

It is inspired by a Californian surf shop and the aesthetic of this place is on point. And the food… YUMMY. It was affordable and flavourful. We totally recommend it.
