The NUDA experience

Hi guys,

Today we have a super exciting blog post for you!

We are glad to present to you a new brand that just launched their products on March 15. We had the chance to try them before the launch and we are totally in love. Before NUDA, we had never been spray tanned or had never tried any tanning product because we were afraid that the result would look orange or uneven. When NUDA approached us to try their tanning products, we decided to give a try. We were so impressed by the results! Our tan looks like we spent 3 weeks on a beach in Mexico. Trust us guys, when you try the NUDA spray tan, you will never want to stay pale during winter again.

Here are some pictures with our beautiful NUDA tan!

Let’s talk a bit more about the brand!

As we said, NUDA is a network of specialists in airbrush tanning. As of right now, the day after the launch, the experience is offered in three different beauty salons in Quebec City. By now, you might be wondering how it works and what distinguishes NUDA from spray tans. Firstly, the NUDA products are vegan, cruelty-free and are made with ingredients from natural origin, such as aloes, vitamins A,C & E and tea. Also, the NUDA team created an all over experience that lasts around 20 minutes. Rather than being spray tanned in a cabin, a specialist uses a machine and controls the amount of airbrush product that goes on to your skin. This way, you get an even and natural tan all over your body!

IMG_8145.jpg

Here is all the equipment needed to provide you with this amazing experience! As you can see, you get pampered from start to beginning, with the silky robe, the remarkable products used and a guide to follow so you can take good care of your tan to make it last as long as possible. Normally, the tan will stay on for around 10 days.

Also, when you come in for your first airbrush tan, the specialist evaluates which color would suit you best and be the most natural. They have three shades to choose from: Latte, Moka and Espresso. They can also mix them to create the perfect shade since everyone has its own different pigmentation.

Overall we totally recommand trying the NUDA experience. You will feel pampered and super confident with your new fresh tan.

Also, go check out the two owners of the brand @mahayyy and @genevievebeaulieu who totally inspired us to continue working as hard as we are. They are as well two best friends creating their own project, which we think is why we totally felt a connection with the brand from the very beginning!

Hope you enjoyed 😊

2016 Beauty Review

Hi guys,

In today’s blog post we decided to go back in time a little bit. Let’s go take a look back in 2016 to show you what beauty products we enjoyed using.

It’s been a long time since we posted a beauty post on here and we thought that showing you what we used last year would be fun. You can always leave suggestions or ideas in the comments sections, we always love to hear what you guys have to say:)

Without further ado, let’s get started on our 2016 beauty recap. Hope you enjoy!

Justine’s Faves

This year, I really enjoyed using the Fit Me line by Maybelline for my base. In fact, I use the combination of their concealer and foundation to achieve a flawless base before doing the rest of my makeup. It provides a light to medium coverage depending on the number of layers you use wich gives a natural look to the skin that I really enjoy. The only aspect of that line that I would change is the selection of color which is pretty small considering that during the winter season I am really fair and that their lighter color of concealer is still a bit dark for me. Except for that, I totally recommend the Fit Me concealer and foundation.

Another product that I have been loving is the Hourglass Lighting Edit Palette. This Palette contains one bronzer, two blushes, one setting powder and two highlights. This is the perfect kit to travel because it contains everything you need to achieve a makeup look. I particularly enjoy the blush in Luminous Flush  because of it’s natural color and slight glow that it gives to your cheeks. Also, I like the powder in Dim Light, which I use to set my concealer on my T-zone. It helps me keep my face matte while still giving me a glow. The other powders are beautiful too but the highlights are a bit too subtile for my liking. I prefer to use them as eyeshadows. The bronzer is good too but a bit shimmery, so if you like more of a matte bronzer that can give dimension to your face this is not the one for you but I think that if you use it with a light hand it can give you a beautiful glowy look.

If you are looking for a very natural eye shadow palette, the Naked Basics 2 from Urban Decay is perfect for you. I can use this palette either when I go for a more natural look or a more intense one. The color selection is very natural but is contains everything you want for different looks.

I discovered at the end of the year a new highlight that I have been enjoying so much that I needed to put it in this review. It is the Smashbox – L.A Lights Blendable Lip & Cheek Colour – Hollywood & Highlight. I like the fact that it is in a stick form and that the consistency is really creamy and easy to apply and blend. It gives a natural glow but when it hits the light you can’t miss it ! I normally don’t tend to go for creams highlights because it sometimes moves the foundation when you apply it, but this one applies very easily with a damped beauty blender.

img_3340

My last favorite of 2016 is a lipstick by Maybelline in Daringly Nude. It is the perfect nude for my skin tone! The consistency is really smooth and surprisingly hydrating for a matte lipstick. I actually love a lot of the color of this line ! You should definitely check it out.

The first product I have been loving this year is the Modern Renaissance palette by Anastasia Beverly Hills. The colours are very diversified, which I like because it lets me create a lot of different looks. The shadows are easily bendable, very pigmented and there is a great balance between the shimmery and matte colours. My personal favorites are Realgar, Venetian Red and Vermeer.

img_3352

Another one of my favorites for the year has been the Water Blend foundation by Make Up For Ever. I love this product because it provides a very light coverage and is very natural. I like to use it with a brush since it is very watery and I feel like the beauty blender absorbs to much product. It is really easy to blend into the skin and doesn’t make stroke marks. It is also buildable which I love because you can use it for an everyday wear but also for more of a nighttime look.

img_3348

I really like this new product that I got kind of recently. I have been looking for a great base all around 2016 so when I found this one I knew I needed to include it in this post. It is the new Optical Illusion Complexion Primer by Urban Decay. I love the blurring effect it provides and the glowy aspect it gives to my skin. It is a must try !

Summer Beauty Favorites

Hi guys,

For today’s post we figured it was time to present you our second beauty related article! It has been a really long time since we haven’t done one so here is the makeup we used and absolutely loved this summer .

Kath’s Faves

Laura Mercier Setting powder in TranslucentThis powder is just amazing. I have been hearing about it for a while but never went and made the splurge until two weeks ago. Since then, I can’t go a day wearing makeup without doing a light baking everywhere I put my concealer. I then use the remaining powder all over my face and swipe the excess off after a few minutes. It keeps my under-eye concealer in place all day and gives it a flawless finish I adore. It also really keeps my face matte, which is something I have been looking for in a powder for a long time. I totally recommend this product to you guys, it is so worth it!

IMG_1429

Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz in Soft BrownI also recently bought this classic, wondering what it could have more than a regular Maybelline eyebrow pencil. I wanted to understand the hype, so I went into it with a lot of expectations. I have been using it for a while now and I can tell you it is also a really great product. The pencil is thin, precise and the product goes on smoothly, which makes filling your eyebrows an easy task, which is something I love!

IMG_1437

ColourPop Highlighter in Dream Catcher

I really like this product for its consistency that is in-between a cream and a powder highlighter. It makes it so easy to blend and also gives it a really great pigmentation. The color is also my favorite to highlight on my skin tone since it is more on the golden side, perfect to achieve a great sun kissed look.

IMG_1450

Just’s Faves

Maybelline Fit Me concealer in Light: This concealer is one of my go to especially in the summertime. Because it is so hot outside I like to keep my makeup as light as possible and often I will skip foundation and go straight to concealer. I apply it under my eyes and on my problem areas. I found that it rarely creases on me and that it lasts all day. No need to wonder all day about your concealer looking good with that Fit Me one !

IMG_1456

L’Oreal Tru Match Lumi in Golden: This liquid highlighter is becoming one of my favorites! Not only because it gives you a fresh, healthy and golden glow but also because it is so versatile. You can mix it with your foundation for an all-over glowy look, under your foundation for a more subtle glow or apply it on top on your foundation on the high point on your face for a more intense and precise glow. I like to apply it on top of my foundation with a beauty sponge. I sometimes top it off with a powder highlight for a more intense glow.

IMG_1407

IMG_1417IMG_1423

ColourPop and Anastasia Beverly Hills liquid lipsticks in Dohe and Craft: These are two of my favorite brand of liquid lipstick. They offer a really smooth and long lasting formula that doesn’t dry out the lips too much. I especially appreciated these two colour during summer when I wanted to add a little something to my looks.

IMG_1459

IMG_1474

IMG_1481

Anastasia Beverly Hills lip gloss in Vintage: I am not a lip gloss lover normally but I can do an exception for this one ! This lip gloss is REALLY pigmented and the texture is not sticky (why I hate lipgloss) and it stays on the lip for a good period of time. This gloss was my go to for more natural days. I really want to own more of those !

Everyday natural makeup look

Hello,

Today we are going to show you two natural makeup looks that we often wear on blog post pictures.

Hope you enjoy!

Justine’s glowy look

  1. Moisturize the skin

I love to use the First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Cream to moisturize my very dry skin. It is a very good base for the makeup I am going to put on top.

2. Correct and Conceal

To make sure that my base is flawless I use a CC Under eye corrector from Tarte to hide the discoloration under my eyes. Then, I use the Master concealer from Maybelline. I chose it in a shade lighter than my skin tone to highlight and to conceal red spots on my face. Those are mainly on my T-zone.

3. Set

To prevent my concealer from creasing during the day I use Dim Light from Hourglass to set everywhere I put it.

IMG_9255

4. Contour

I use the Smashbox Contour Shade to Shape and sculpt my cheekbones, my jaw line and my nose.

IMG_9258

5. Blush

To bring color back to my cheeks I use my blush from Tarte in Unleashed from the Rainforest After Dark Palette.

IMG_9257

6. Highlight

To accentuate the top of my cheeks, the tip of my nose and the top of my brows I use a highlighter in Champagne from Tarte that is in the same palette I used before.

 IMG_9265

7. Fill your Brows

To sculpt and fill my brows I use the Brow Wiz from Anastasia Beverly Hills in the shade Dark Brown.

IMG_9270

8. Eyes

To unify the color of my lid I use the shade Stark in the Naked 2 Basic palette. I curl my lashes and use a couple coats of the Lash Sensational mascara from Maybelline.

IMG_9274

And you are done and left with a glowy look I absolutely love!

IMG_0159

Kathrina’s look

1.Moisturize

I firstly use the Cetaphil cream to prep my skin for makeup. This step really helps my makeup to stay in place all day and also protects my skin from the sun since it has SPF.

2.Base

To be sure that my fondation sticks to my skin all day, I use the Porefessional primer from Benefit. This product smooths my skin and reduces the appearence of pores, which can be helpful.

3.Foundation

I then mix the BareMinerals Complex Rescue and the Infallible Pro-Matte fondation from L’Oreal to create the perfect base color for my pale skin tone .

4. Conceal

To perfect my base I use the Instant Age Rewind from Maybeline on some spots and particularly on my under eye circles.

IMG_9296

5. Set

I also use the highlighting shade in my Smashbox Shape Matters palette to set my concealer.

IMG_9284

6. Contour and Highlight

I use the contour shade and the Glow shade in the same Smashbox palette to sculpt and define my face. This is without a doubt my favorite step in my everyday makeup routine!

7. Eyes

I use the color Totally Nude in the Smashbox palette all over my lid and the color Contour to define my crease. I curl my lashes and I apply several coats of the Voluminous Millon lashes from L’Oreal and the Buxom Vanity Lash mascara to define my eyes. I love the effect this step has on my eyes, they look so big after!

IMG_9275

8. Brows

I use the brow powder in the Smashbox palette to fill in my brows and to be sure that they stay in place all day I use a translucide wax.

IMG_9332

Done ! You are left with a perfect natural look!

Hope you liked the post !

Our Favorite Fall Makeup

Justine's Favorites

Tarte 'Rainforest After Dark' Colored Clay Eye and Cheek Palette

My first favorite for this time of the year is this palette by Tarte.

IMG_7231

This is a beautiful palette perfect for beginners and to take on trips because you have everything you need to achieve a perfect every day look in it. Tarte offers us one highlight, one blush, one bronzer and six eyeshadows (three mattes and three shimmery). It is perfect for both an every day or a ‘going out at night’ look. The shadows are creamy and they blend beautifully on the lid. The blush, highlight and bronzer are perfect to create dimension and bring light on my fair skin tone. This blush is now my go-to blush for the summer or for a ‘no-makeup’ makeup kind of day. I think that you get a good amount of quality products for your money (46$).

I strongly recommend this palette and, if you enjoy it, they have an other similar one named the ‘Showstopper’ Clay Palette that you might want to check out.

Maybelline's 'Fit Me' Powder

IMG_7185

I have also been loving the ‘Fit Me’ Powder. It is a great powder to set your fondation and your concealer with. On the skin it gives you a natural and glowy look but keeps your makeup in place for the day. I think it is a great powder especially for people with dryier skin because of the glow the powder gives. I altought think that the new ‘Fit Me’ Powder ‘Matte+ Poreless’ will suit people with a more oily skin better. They also have a great colour selection that will match every skin tone.

Kathrina's Favorite

Smashbox 'Shape Matters' Palette

IMG_7233

I have been obsessed with this palette ever since I bought it a couple of weeks ago. It has basically everything you need to get ready in the morning. For an everyday make-up look I always start by using the brow powders. Mixing the two shades together gives me an awesome color for blondes to create perfect brows. I then go ahead and set them with the gel, using the brush that came with the kit. I can without a doubt say that they stay in place all day! I also like to use the ‘Bronze’ shade and the highliter to make my face look more alive in the early morning, which I absolutely love. On a more formal occasion like a diner, I like to add ‘Stripped’ all over my eyelid with a touch of ‘Sumatra’ and ‘Contour’ in the crease to darken the look. I finally like to apply ‘Vanilla’ in my iner-corner and on my brow bone. This highlight color is very pretty and I feel like it makes such a difference in lifting and making my eyes look bigger. I love this palette because all of the colors are so pigmented and stay on for quite a great amount of time. They are very easy to blend and the variety of shades makes it really versatile and fun. I think it was a really great purchase because you get a lot of products, which is so practical!
