Editorial shoot with Valerie Laroche

Hey guys,

In today’s blog post we decided to show you something very different from what we usually do. We teamed up with Valerie Laroche a very talented photographer to bring to you an editorial shoot inspired by the Vogue magazine.

We always loved flipping through the page of fashion magazines and getting inspired by these powerful women on the cover of them. So when Valerie asked us to find something that represents us to get inspired for the shoot, we immediately touht of us looking at the Vogue Met Gala special edition hours in the shops and dreaming over the beautiful gowns and over the beautiful captures of them. So creating this photoshoot concept was so much fun and also different from our previoujs blog posts.

We really hope that you enjoy and let us know if you would like to see more different content like this.

A Weekend in Montreal

Hi guys,

Last week we decided to take a little girls trip to Montreal. Our main goal was, yes to have fun, but also to discover some new cute and trendy places, which is something we think we totally achieved! We discovered some restaurants that just recently opened and they happen to be perfect for you trendy girls.

If you know any other cute shops or restaurants you want to share with us, please do so in the comment section! Now, let’s get into our little travel diary!

Hope you enjoy!

Firstly, we thought what better way to start our trip than with a brunch at a small café. After a lot of research, we finally decided on a cute restaurant/ice cream shop/boutique situated on the Plateau Mont-Royal called Au Festin de Babette. We both took a different brunch plate and enjoyed it so much! Totally recommend if you want to start the day right.

After our very filling and tasty meal it was time for a little bit of shopping (obviously). Before that, we discovered that there was a Barbie Expo near st-Catherine so we needed to go check it out! We thought it was so fun and totally recommend you check it out if you need some activity ideas on a rainy day in Montreal.

When our shopping on St-Catherine was over, it was time for a dinner break. We think a lot of you guys will agree on that but what better way to finish the day than a sushi place. We went to a restaurant that just opened it’s doors recently and we fell in love with the food, the ambiance and the owners of this place. We can easily say that the sushis at Le NINJA sushi & bar are the best we tasted so far, and this is a lot to say for two sushis lovers.

Aka les meilleures sushis 🍣

The next day we decided to treat ourselves and stop at a smoothie and poke bowl place. This is also a very recent addition to the Saint-Catherine street in the Gay district. With it’s Hawaiian vibe and very cute decor, we are now obsessed with Kamehameha Snack-Bar. Our smoothie bowls were on point but what really made this place special was their watermelon and black sesame ice cream in a fish shaped cone. It can sound weird just saying it but wait till you see some pictures. They change the flavours every week and they seem to be getting better and better each time!

Here are some pictures of our favorite outfits of the weekend!

Tommy Hilfiger look-a-like

When we went shopping the day before, we both found cute crewnecks at Brandy Melville that look a lot like a vintage Tommy shirt, but for a fraction of the price.

A Weekend in NYC

Hi guys !

A couple weeks ago I went to New York City for a few days and I thought it would be fun to share some of my favorites places with you. I mainly visited the parts of the city I had never really been before, which were DUMBO, Soho and Greenwich Village.

I hope you enjoy this little travel diary filled with a bunch of really amazing spots that you might want to check out next time you are in the city !

The High Line

IMG_4988

IMG_4994

The High Line is definitely one of my favorite spots in the city since it allows you to walk through the Lower East Side and Chelsea really easily. You get amazing sights, both of New Jersey and the city,  from this old train rail converted in an elevated green path walk.

IMG_4995

IMG_5017

There is also a lot of art and little details all the way along the High Line, like this giant mural. You could walk through the path a thousand times and still find a little something new every time because of the many sculptures and figurines all along the way.

IMG_5022

IMG_5025

There are a lot of green spaced all along the High Line, which I really loved. It has a really different vibe from the city below. It is really calm, there are a lot of beautiful plants, resting areas and sunbathers in the summer which makes it really entertaining.

IMG_5029

As I said, up on the High Line you get some of the most beautiful views of the heart of the city.

Soho & Greenwich Village

IMG_5038

I loved walking through Soho for its typical New York architecture. Mercer and Bleecker Street were fun to walk along. We stopped in a bunch of art galleries and little shops, as well as more famous ones. We also found the best food in those neighbourhoods ! There is so much choice and everything is very trendy. It is the perfect place to spend your night since there is a lot of little music venues and places to go get a drink.

IMG_5041

IMG_5047

My two favorite places were Oatmeal, where you can get any kind you want, for breakfast or lunch. They even make some with cheese and tomatoes ! The other restaurant I absolutely loved was by Chloe., a vegan restaurant where you can get the best fries and burgers. Don’t forget to also make a stop at the famous Magnolia Bakery and La Durée for a dessert to die for !

DUMBO & Brooklyn

IMG_5093

We decided to rent a bike in the Financial District and rode it on the Brooklyn Bridge to DUMBO and Brooklyn, where we strolled for a while. It was a really fun activity and we got to see pretty sights, like this spot you might recognize if you’re a Gossip Girl fan !

IMG_5100

IMG_5105

IMG_5123

I really like strolling through the Brooklyn Bridge park because of the breathtaking view you had of the city but also because of the vibe of the park. Families were hanging out, preparing barbecues in communal spaces, there was a very big outdoor space to go practice almost any kind of sport and a lot of people were walking along the river.

IMG_5125

IMG_5143

Central Park and the Upper East Side

IMG_5146

IMG_5170

IMG_5200

We ended our little trip with a stroll around Central Park and Fifth Avenue, which is always very fun and a must see.

I hope you guys enjoyed and that it gave you some ideas for the next time you’re in New York City !

Fun events for great companies in Quebec

Hey guys! In today’s blog post we decided to give you a sneak peek into the events we went to recently.

Menz Club

Tuesday May 30th was the opening of the second Menz Club salon. If you are already familiar with this salon, the one located in the Edifice Delta in Laurier is, in fact, a Menz Club Signature wich offers a more luxurious service than his big brother located in Lebourgneuf. Like the owner Ophelia-Anna Nagar explained to us the night of the event, her salon is dedicated to men. She wants to offer them a time to pamper themselves, similar to when we go for a girls day and go get our nails and hair done for a special event. The services are offered in the form of a menu, so you can choose your main service and add extras if you want to. From facials to a hair cut and to beard trimming, they offer something for every type of man and for different needs. So, if you want to spoil a man that is important for you, we totally recommend booking an appointment for them in one of the two Menz Club ! He’ll totally love the lounge vibe and the amazing service.

Womance Pop-up Shop

More recently, on monday the 12th, we were invited to the launch of the Quebec instalment of the Womance tour. For those of you who don’t don’t yet, Womance is an online fashion boutique created by Andréanne Marquis, a young entrepreneur. For the time of the tour, Womance is stepping out of the web and coming in different cities in the province of Quebec, starting with Quebec City. If you want to take a look at the amazing clothes and accessories available, they there are still located in Place de la Cite for a couple of days, ending the 25th. But if you are not from Quebec City, don’t worry because you will have the chance to take a look at their super cute and fashionable collection in Rimouski (July), Montreal (August), Trois-Rivieres (September), Gatineau (October), Riviere-du-Loup (November), Quebec City (December), Brossard (March), Bathurst (April) and in Repentigny (May). Go check it out !

We love to talk to you guys about companies that are expanding and that were built in our province. We hope you enjoyed !

SubZero Sports

Hi guys,

Today we have a very special post in collaboration with a young brand created in Quebec city. In this blog post, we are going to present it to you and give you a small review of it.

SubZero Sports is a male and female clothing brand based in Quebec created by Daniel-Eric Almog, Vincent Zampieri Blackburn and Brendon Drouin Doyon. The idea behind the brand is to offer affordable clothes that are perfect for practicing any sport. In fact, the creators of Sub Zero realized that there is a lot of small brands creating pieces mostly for style, thus that were not designed to practice physical activities. This is where the idea of SubZero submerged and they decided to create high quality and affordable pieces perfect for a street style look but also ideal for a football practice.

As a matter of fact, after only 7 months, the company seeked for athletes like Olivier Paquet-Brissonare (player for the Carabin of Montreal) and Alexandre Giguère-Roy (Culturiste, rugby player at Cegep Limoilou) wearing their merchandise. After wearing them the day of the shooting, we totally understand why they adopted their clothes so fast! They are so comfortable and soft, we totally recommend trying them out.

As you can see, the logo of the brand is made out of the junction of an “S” and a “z” to create an hourglass where there is not much time left. They want to remind us that life is a question of time and if you want to do something do it now, which is something you can apply in any sport.

Go check their Facebook page:

https://www.facebook.com/pg/SubZero-Sports-164569654039392/shop/?ref=page_internal

Also, the owners wanted to give a special thank you to the people who helped them on different aspect of their brand.
